The People of Ebstone

Closed mines, failing trade and danger beyond the village have left Ebstone’s people fighting for its future. The council promises recovery, while the pilgrims at Stormpoint offer answers of their own.

Tabatha Greystone

Stories of raided farms and trouble on the roads fill the Golden Pick, and Tabatha Greystone knows the people suffering behind each one. Tired of hearing why nothing can be done, she presses the council to protect the neighbours who keep Ebstone fed. Hungry travellers and frightened strangers still find room in her tavern.

Gneiss Elbridge & Ganla Brewster

Headman Gneiss Elbridge wants the mines open, Ebstone working and Sarnath satisfied. Ganla Brewster thinks the coastal hamlets have waited long enough for his plans to produce anything. With friends along the coast and little faith in the council’s promises, the brewer wants those neglected settlements to have a stronger say in how Ebstone is run.

Coraline Elbridge

Coraline’s trading contacts reach far beyond Ebstone, but disrupted trade has brought problems she would rather settle quietly. At Elbridge’s Essentials, she supplies travellers and takes an interest in anyone who can bring goods back safely. Earning her confidence can mean finding work that never appears on the Golden Pick’s noticeboard.

Clayton Fairhair & Schist

Clayton Fairhair keeps Ebstone supplied with tools and weapons, backing any serious effort to reopen the workings. Courage alone will not impress him; he expects care from those taking on the job. His apprentice Schist grew up exploring the hills and old mine tunnels, noticing things that busier villagers pass by. The young smith is eager for a chance to prove useful.

Dorian Andis

Reports of disturbed shrines at Stony Holt and strange singing beneath Chaindeep trouble Dorian Andis, who fears for Ebstone’s old holy places. He takes the travellers’ stories seriously, drawing on his knowledge of the region’s saints and legends. For explorers puzzling over old inscriptions, he can help explain the beliefs behind them.

Harkan Roth

Harkan Roth hunts a fugitive for the Crimson Brotherhood, following a trail towards Ebstone’s coast. In the Golden Pick, he watches passing travellers and weighs up who might be useful. The reward matters more to him than anyone’s peace of mind, and his questions can make even a quiet drink uncomfortable.

Aelar Stormborne

At Stormpoint, pilgrims searching for meaning in the power that has trapped Tidefall find Aelar Stormborne ready to lead them. Convinced the Storm is trying to speak to him, he treats those changed by it with fearful reverence. As his following grows, so does his conflict with Sarnath’s efforts to control the coast.

The Faithful

Filigree Coppers

Finds from Ebstone’s mines, ruins and wrecks draw the attention of Filigree Coppers, a travelling merchant with an eye for rare treasures. His stall offers a glimpse of places far beyond the peninsula. He freely shares stories of riches still waiting to be recovered, though he is far more careful with his coin.

Inspector Meredith Crow

Sent to stamp out the Storm cults gathering along the coast, Inspector Meredith Crow has arrived with Sarnath’s soldiers and made the village jailhouse her place of interrogation. She has little patience for local excuses, and her enquiries do not always stop with the cults. Why certain people attract her attention is something she keeps to herself.
