Worshipping the Storm
The Faithful
Some believe the Storm will cleanse Tidefall. Others seek power, salvation or passage into another existence. They call it Kiam, Kiamat, and other names spoken in prayers across the island.
Their beliefs did not begin with its return. Long before the horizon darkened, scholars and nobles gathered in secret societies to study the Storm and collect its stones.
The Road to Stormpoint
Blue-robed pilgrims travel from across Tidefall to Stormpoint, a ruined fort on the cliffs of Ebstone. Shelters crowd its broken walls, close enough to the Storm that wind and rain batter the camp.
Some remain there in prayer. Others take boats into the darkness or lash themselves to rafts, convinced the Storm will receive them.
Kiam Cathedral
Built in glass and stone above Veloria, Kiam Cathedral gives Storm worship a wealthy and powerful home. Its congregation has the money to build openly and draw new followers into the faith, bringing worship of Kiam into the heart of city life. To the Order of Divinity, the cathedral is an open challenge: a growing religion dedicated to the very force holding Tidefall captive.
Beneath the Island
The worshippers disagree about where their god is found. While pilgrims gather on the coast, other sects descend into abandoned mines, following crystal deposits and strange sounds underground.
Wealthy congregations have established themselves in cities, far from those exposed camps. Their preachers attract followers, money and the attention of authorities already struggling to contain Storm worship.
