The Ebside Bogs
South of Ebstone, old buildings sink into the mire and hungry creatures wait beneath the mud. Farmers struggle to hold their ground against nightly raids, while healers gather ingredients beyond the village’s protection. Rumours of the Coven-at-the-Ebb persist around a strangely well-kept cabin.
Bogfield Farm
Skarid raids are stripping Bogfield of livestock and leaving its barns in ruins. Its owner, Igneous Wylde, is more often found drinking in the village than working the fields. With Ebstone’s Guard refusing to patrol beyond the village, the people keeping it fed have been left to defend themselves.
Robert & Jinny Pine
A farmhand forced to carry a sword, Robert fights to keep Bogfield working. Already wounded, he still patrols at night while Jinny searches for help to heal him. With the Guard sheltering in Ebstone, the Pines are left to protect their home, and each other.
Skarid Raiders
Shaman-led raiders descend from the hills to plunder Bogfield and the surrounding farms. Livestock, trophies and seemingly worthless scraps are carried away as offerings to whatever waits for their worship. Since the Brulgorg drove Ebstone’s Guard to abandon its patrols, the Pines and their neighbours have been left to face the raids alone.
The Skarid ChieftainsBogskippers & Marsh Voles
The mud is alive with hungry things. Bogskippers ambush passing feet, while territorial marsh voles challenge anyone straying too close. Both supply food and valuable materials to Ebstone, provided the hunter avoids becoming the wounded one.
Crescent Moon Cabin
Raised above the mire, Crescent Moon Cabin is immaculate where everything around it decays. Cleverwoman Debarye visits often, gathering ingredients for the remedies she sells in Ebstone. Helpful with wounds and evasive with questions, she offers little certainty about the rumoured Coven-at-the-Ebb, or the crescent above the door that always looks freshly carved.
